James MacGregor
James was one of the earliest settlers in the Granville area. His ancestors are unknown.

In a petition filed in February 1810 for land lying beside the highway between Digby and Annapolis in the township of Clements appear the names of James McGregor and his sons John, Thomas, James, William and Daniel. A certification attached to the petition states "we are well acquainted with Mr. James McGregor and know him to be an old inhabitant of this province and that he is a steady and industrious settler and a father of a large family and we do recommend him highly deserving of any attention from Government...."; signed by Thomas, John, and Phinias Millidge. This petition is also signed by Patton Wade, Joseph Wade Jr., John Wade, the son of Joseph Wade, and Samuel Wade; James Sederquist, William Sederquist, and John Sederquist.. (The petition was rejected on 26 March 1810.)
